Momentum is not a predictive indicator, but rather a measure of the strength or weakness of the underlying trend in a market. A value of 100, on the gauges below, signals the existence of a strong up-trend in that respective market, a value of -100 signals the existence of a strong down-trend, and a value of 0 signals the lack of a trend in the time frame under study.
We monitor multiple benchmarks in each category and the momentum is calculated over multiple periods in each time frame, averaging 33 days (short-term), 125 days (medium-term) and 240 days (long-term).
